Welcome to Artisanal and Small-Scale Mining (ASM) Asia-Pacific Learning Forum

The Forum is a vibrant learning community rich with individuals such as academics, scientists, non-governmental organisations, community-based initiatives, development agencies, and local resource persons such as miners and mineworkers. The Forum has been in existence since 2004, and is on the threshold of an exciting future. Membership of the Forum is free and open to anyone with an active interest in ASM.

The mandate of ASM Asia Pacific Learning Forum is to promote knowledge about ASM in our region, especially as it applies to poor people’s livelihoods, best practices in environmental care, in policies that work for people as well as for the environment, in creating new approaches that are inclusive, and to promote fellowship and cooperation among those persons and groups interested in poverty eradication and sustainable development.

Our aim is aimed to provide useful information on what is happening in the field of ASM\ in the different corners of the region. We believe that continued learning strengthens the capacity for effective action or policy on ASM.
